| Has anyone ever changes their store back to a NON-BTS? From what I see it is a lot harder to make changes to the BTS. A lot of programmers don't know how. and when they do know how they charge double to do the work on the bts. Seems as though the bts is mainly set up to benefit the web designer and make it easy for him to make"on the fly changes". It is not so hot for the store owner. |

| You are incorrect. It is easier to make changes with BTS. For example with BTS, you make 1 html change to the main_page.tpl.php and it automatically works across all pages. The same change with non-bts would require that you edit over 30 different files. What is easier about that? BTS is not set up to benefit a designer, money wise. Designers can charge way more making a template for non-bts shops, as they have to modify dozens of php files core code. With bts, they really only have to edit a few files, and none are the core php files of osC. If you are being charged more for BTS mods, you are being ripped off or taken advantage of. Having worked on hundreds of stores, I can say that BTS is much easier, and far more flexible.

| I agree with Michael... It might take you a bit to realize with it is doing but when you do the fun can kick in... I didn't like it at first but now have alot of fun with it. For example... I added fields in the data base for categories and products which allow for me to use different templates per page if I want. What would be the benefit you might ask?... Well, it allows me to run all of my support pages (how to buy... about us... policies... etc) from the data base which means I can change them just like a category or product and yet have a different layout when needed if I am doing something special for that page... Think of your templates as roadmaps... pulling all the info into one to make the map (page that you see).
