If you move your entire site intact , domain and all, and update the dns, there will be no outward change that anyone will notice, including google. There is nothing to worry about. No redirects are needed, etc.

Default RE: moving to a different host

Thanks msasek....appreciate it...

I have some other questions....my new hosting plan is basically a low cost VPS....I see lot of application in the control panel but I am not sure which ones would be compatible with oscmax.

Here are the applications:

eAccelerator 0.9.3

FrontPage Extensions 2002 4.0.SR2

GNU Compiler Collection 1.0

Java JRE 1.5

Mod Perl 1.2.6

Mod Php 4.4.2

Mod Php 5.0.5

Mod Php 5.1.2

Perl 5.6.0

Perl 5.8.7

Python 2.2.2

Website Creator Lite 1.0

MySQL 3.23.56

MySQL4 4.1.9

PerlMySQL 1.1

PerlMySQL 1.48

phpMyAdmin 2.6.0

ImageMagick 6.2.4

SpamAssassin 3.1.0

should I go with the latest versions of php and mySQL?

thanks

These will work with no problem:
eAccelerator 0.9.3
Mod Php 4.4.2
Perl 5.8.7
Python 2.2.2
MySQL 3.23.56
phpMyAdmin 2.6.0
ImageMagick 6.2.4
SpamAssassin 3.1.0

You may have issues with:
Mod Php 5.0.5
Mod Php 5.1.2
MySQL4 4.1.9
