Hi, Firstly I'm sorry to bug you for this time waster, however it's done and I can't undo it! When I set up this shop, I put in my email address as admin but gave the wrong extension. (yes-- stupid!). Now when I want the password which I have misplaced, to come to me, it goes into the ether! I have exported the admin table via phpadmin but noticed the password is already coded into many characters. I tried to change it and import but no go. How can I get this thing back on the road, without having to delete the whole thing and start again. Even though I made a stupid goof, surely there must be a way to get back on track without too much trouble. Thanks, appreciate all the help I can get at this time. Oz

Very easy: 1. Create new user with the password you want. 2. Go to PhpAdmin and copy that password from DB. 3. Paste the password into the user for which password is gone. 4. Delete user you created.

Thanks you kopoba11. Do you mean create a new 'customer' in osc or a new DB user in MySQL? I am getting more confused by the minute.. must be age! It is the panel that gets me into osc admin that I am blocked at. The email address and password. It also gave me the 3 out, contact admin message as well. Although still not sure which one to create, I did a new customer with the same emails and passwords I want for admin, and copied, pasted into a txt file to import into php which it did, but I still couldn't get past the admin panel. Also tried to get the password sent to the new address I put in, but it still said, 3 times, contcat admin. Thoroughly confused now. Oz

| Oz, Here is what you do. Fire up phpmyadmin and browse your admin table in the database. Then, edit the record for the admin that you want to change the password. In a text editor, edit the osCMax.sql file found in the install directory of the osCMax zip file ( the one you can download from this site). Locate the insert statements for the admin table, and copy the encrypted password. Then paste that pw into your phpmyadmin page into the password field. Also edit the email address to the correct one. Save the record. Now login to the admin panel using the new email address and a password of : admin

Ah Ha.. Finally got it. Had trouble with php admin getting it in at first. Anyway did it.. For others in trouble who may come across this in sheer frustration.. 1. Created a new customer at the catalog home page. I made sure the email address and password was what I wanted to use in the admin login panel eventually. 2. In phpadmin exported out the customer user table to standard csv text file. Opened it in Notepad or a txt prog and copied the email address and coded password I had entered when creating the new customer. 3. In phpadmin exported out the admin table to a standard csv text file. 4. Opened this too in Notepad and then pasted in the email address and password OVER the one already in the admin file. 5. Be sure not to disturb anything else in this file. 6. Save it. 7. Back to phpadmin to import the changed admin table. 8. I then exported what I had just imported to see whether in fact it was inserted okay. If not I did it again. When it was, I exited out of phpadmin. 9. Went to the admin login panel, entered the new email address and password and viola! Got it. Hope this works for those in need!
