    Default Changing Host for Site

I need to move my cart (osCMax v2) from one hosting environment to another different hosting environment (that also has the required system environment). I was wondering if anyone knew of some threads I could follow to make sure I pull this off successfully...otherwise it's a long walk off a short pier.

Any pointers and/or advice are appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Its actually vey easy to do, when I first did It I was pretty worried, but only minor configuration changes needed when I did it

move the files and folders as they are now to the new host.
Create a database and import the content of your current one
Adjust the configuration files in both admin and root includes folders, and thats all I had to do.

Of course this depends on any large scale mods u have in place, but it works everytime for me.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a try, but keep a bottle of Wild Turkey and a 45 next to me...just in case.

    Thanks

Backup in the ADMIN the DB on old system - copy the WHOLE site over-(including the backup) - if you can do server side ZIP/UNZIP the whole site.....

Install the \install files also - run the install for the configuration - YOU CAN import the DB. This will create the proper config file for this server (delete the \install after everything is good). Go into the ADMIN with the DEFAULT user/pass - "RESTORE" your backup. Logoff as the default ADMIN is more than likely no good (or I would HOPE). Relogin with your OLD user/pass - SITE is NOW RUNNING! DONE

    Good LUCK!

Your welcome! This should work for ALL sites and ALL mods (from Linux to Linux or Windows to Windows - if you go between diffent server then there are a few minor thing to fix like SENDMAIL /SMTP settings etc...) - if it does not then it is a config thing or a server side issue (ie register_globals or GD-Lib not installed or such).
