EasyPop/Product Image Problem

Hi, I am having to convert a nasty database to be osc friendly. I uploaded a file to easypop that was incomplete so I went into the categories and products admin and deleted the category folder at top level to include all folders/prods under it. (it held 1 product 3 folders down) It correctly shows my catalog/product counts at "0" but a broken img link shows up in the applicable infobox and main content sections! Also, some of the nav buttons in the main content area are displaying as broken links now, too, though they have not been modified? Any suggestions for telling my max that it has no new products so therefore forget the images and leave other images alone? Should I overwrite certain files or start over with a new install? Also, I imported in MS2.2 before, and may have had this same problem there, too, though the imports went very well there to include bulk images. Is there a fix for this?
