    Default Define Main Page - ERROR_FILE_NOT_WRITEABLE

    Hi

    The install went fine ..wow !!

    But I get ERROR_FILE_NOT_WRITEABLE when I try to define main page in the amdin area

    I am sure all chmods have been done correctly ..but what have I missed ?

    ALSO - where can I get info on the template editing ?

    chmod 777 /includes/languages/english/mainpage.php

    Not Greek, Linux

    You need to use a FTP client, connect to your hosting account with it, and then navigate to the this file:

    /includes/languages/english/mainpage.php

    and using your ftp client, modify the permissions on the file to 777. Usually you just right click the file, find the Permissions or CHMOD option and then change it to 777.

    The 777 permission will make it writable and the error will go away and it will accept your changes.

    Oh, if you don't understand 777, that just means to set all 3 permissions as writeable.
