This is a discussion on Upgrade osc 2.2 to OSCMax 2 within the osCMax v2 Installation issues forums, part of the osCMax v2.0 Forums category; I currently have a store that is running plain OSCommerce. Is there an easy way to upgrade to OSCMax?...

Default RE: Upgrade osc 2.2 to OSCMax 2

Easy? Short answer - NO

The LONG and HARD way YES. Use a tool from MYSQLDIFF.ORG to "compare" the two databases (oscmax.sql file included with osCMax zip file and a backup of your current site) and it will generate a SQL that can be run on the OLD DB to update it to the NEW one.

...in phpmysql import your OLD database (into a NEW empty database) and run the SQL script created from MYSQLDIFF on it. Then create a NEW site with MAX (test site is okay-localhost works) and do the install - but don't import! Use the NEW database created above.

ALWAYS BACKUP! Then TEST, TEST, TEST!

Good Luck!
