Default 500 Internal Server Error (with no apparent reason!)

I'm having the strangest problem...

I install the shop fine, I can edit things in admin happily and view the shop itself fine and all works great, then for no apparent reason I get a 500 error... It seems it just goes "POP!" at some point and I start getting the error.

The server is perfectly fine otherwise, I can view other files I upload to the /shop/ directory fine, I have SSL installed and it works fine, it just seems to 'stop working'... very odd

Oh, I can also access the admin side of things fine...

The error:
Quote:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Anyone else had this?

The dreaded 500 error. Yes when a server throws that error I want to scream. It could be anything...

First, have you applied all the bugfixes in the bugtracker?

Second, what versions of php/mysql/apache are you running?

Maybe your host was updating php settings, or maybe just gremlins...

Hi!

I too am having the same problem. I have installed OSCMax probably 6-7 times and it works fine for a while and then I change something in admin and I get 500 Internal Server Error.

This last time I changed an image for a category - it was working with the old image, with the new one it isn't, not even the index page will come up.

I checked and I'm not running PHP as CGI!

Any ideas,
Ernie
