Default SSL issue with SubDomains

Can't get SLL to work using subdomains on v2.0. Have it working fine on v1.7 on the same domain, using a subdomain as follows:

http://mysub.mydomain.com

and

https://mydomain.com/mysub/

This doesn't work in 2.0, and after a few specific steps, I'm not able to access the catalog on the http:// server either. It requires a new install.

Default RE: SSL issue with SubDomains

This would depend on HOW you bought your SSL certificate...

Wild card will allow a SUBDOMAIN

and is setup like *.mywebsite.com

This will allow mysub.mywebsite.com or secure.mywebsite.com or store.mywebsite.com or store.secure.mywebsite.com etc.....

But there are quite expensive.......several hundred $$$ - for a cheap one.....

MOST SSL are for a SINGLE domains like www.mywebsite.com (https://mywebsite.com is NOT the same as https://www.mywebsite.com).

Check your 1.7 vers 2.0 config files - most likely there is a change.....

Default RE: SSL issue with SubDomains

I understand the differences in the URL's, and the cert.

The problem is that it WORKS FINE with a subdomain (aka subfolder) in v1.7, but IT DOES NOT WORK in v2.0. The config files for the two installs are nearly identical, with the exception of the folder names.

Domains, subdomains make no difference to osCMax if you have the paths right. I have osCMax working on top level domains and subdomains flawlessly.

When you say 'It doesn't work' you need to be more specific... Error messages? What happens in your browser?
