V2.5 Beta3 Specials and New Products Info box and page modules errors

good day all,

I have noticed a couple of possible errors(bugs) in 2.5 Beta3 recently, I have even installed a fresh copy to verify and this is what i have noticed, could someone confirm if they are having the same issues. I have searched all throughout the forums and can't seem to find a solution to any of the below.

1. In catalog/includes/boxes/specials.php on line 39 (Heading Link)the ,"show_specials=1" seems to be missing, as in line 47. its currently pointing to the specials.php file

Line 47 (more arrow) reads =
$boxLink = '<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, "show_specials=1") . '"><img src="' . DIR_WS_TEMPLATES . 'images/infobox/arrow_right.png" border="0" alt="more" title=" more "></a>';

a. Info box - Specials, When (FILENAME_DEFAULT, "show_specials=1") is changed in line 39 the 404 page error is fixed but the page has no products shown. The heading link and arrow link shows no products when the link is clicked on the results page (if that is the name for it). The page heading is correct "Specials" then it reads "There are no products to list in this category." could it be a possible query error not returning the results?


2. Page Modules, Specials broken links and New Products prices are not correct.

a. Specials heading link seems to be the same as above. no products are shown when the link is clicked.

b. new products does not reflect the specials pricing.

Yes - this is a bug - Fixed here - 0000718: Specials - osCmax Bug Tracking System

a. Specials heading link seems to be the same as above. no products are shown when the link is clicked.

b. new products does not reflect the specials pricing.

a) if no products are shown then you might not have any specials ... are you sure have some for this customer group?
b) I can not replicate this ... can you provide more information?

Also, if you think you have found a bug - don't be shy - report it in the BugTracker.

thanks for the response,

i have double check the setting in admin for specials under catalog - the customer group is set for retail for 2 of the three products that have been set up. all are active (green light on) with or without the expire date set, logged in as customer or not still no specials when the header or more arrow link is clicked on the specials info box.

is there a file i can attached or something that could help sort this problem out.

Not sure if this would matter but i am testing with wampserver on my local machine.

I also tried to report this in the bug tacker but it noted something like my log in was either banned or not active.

You should be able to attach a screenshot in your user panel with in this forum.

Just checking - you have been to catalog -> Specials -> and created the special offers ... Can you see these specials in the infobox on the home page?

I also tried to report this in the bug tacker but it noted something like my log in was either banned or not active.

The BugTracker has a separate login.

I'm also am having specials not display on the index page (when using the URL index.php?show_specials=1)

The URL for this screen is index.php?show_specials=1, and you can see the random specials are displaying correctly in the right column, but nothing in the main content area.



I did, however, already apply the bug fix and have the specials link working correctly from the infobox which is great.

Any assistance someone could offer would be much appreciated.
