    Default config file error

I get this error in admin "I am able to write to the configuration file" and no matter what permission I give the file it still comes up with this error.
I am not sure if this is also related but I can add Categories and add products which will show if I make them a featured product but only at the bottom of the page but not if I don't. It comes up no products.
    Product images do not show.
In admin when you highlight a product, the right hand column image does not show.
So basically although I have added products nothing shows.

    PHP Version 5.2.15

    MYSQL 5.1.52

Just checking that you know there are 2 configure.php files one in the catalog/includes/ and the other in catalog/admin/includes.

Are you running v2.0.25 or the new v2.5 Beta 3?

Sounds like you have a duff install.

    regards,

Yes I do know thanks just thought I would ask to see if anyone else has had the problem.
I have been installing OS since 2003 and it seemed to go ok I will try again and see what happens.

osCmax is not osCommerce (though very similar). Be sure to read the wiki and make no assumptions.

I deleted all and started again uploaded fresh download and installed fine. This time managed to set permissions fine .
However still can't see product and thumbnail of product in admin is still not there. Have checked wiki.
Am I missing something in the way I load product?

I also installed V2.0.25 to see what happens with it. all goes OK and the products install and show correctly. However
in admin you get instead of the thumbnail for the product image on the right of admin you get "Main Image (shown as a thumbnail):
    /tents/images/thumbs/compaq.jpg" but no image.

    Lightbulb Re: config file error

I'll hazard a bet that you're using the bug-ridden IE. I posted a change to the admin interface some months back, though this should've made it to 2.5 and can be found in 2.0.25 SVN.
Simple solution: use Firefox (maybe even Safari/Opera) for admin tasks.

The image in admin works fine on 2.5 beta 3 and also fine in 2.0.25 with firefox however not with IE. So what was the fix as it doesn't seem to be installed on either of these versions.

The original problem with the 2.5 Beta 3 is still there. I can upload products but they don't show

Seeing as you appear not to want to use the simple solution and have issues with searching:
    r476 - oscmax2 - Project Hosting on Google Code
    r733 - oscmax2 - Project Hosting on Google Code - possibly related.
    Handed on a silver platter.

I do like searching. I just didn't know where to look I tried searching your posts but hadn't come up with anything. Contribution and mods used to be posted on the site but I have been away for a while and no longer know where to look. From the links I take it it is all posted on Google now?
Thanks for you help I will try and search via Google next time.

Just done another search, this time in the forum for "admin images not showing": Image doesn't show when uploaded in admin (Though I must say it does help that I vaguely remember prior questions - sad, I know).
Post #5 should give a few pointers.
