Default Re: How to make template to ready website

Let's start with the second question first. OSC-based cart comparisons.

Magento, Oscommerce, ZenCart, X-Cart, CRE Loaded, OSC Max, Virtuemart, Comparison & Review of Shopping Carts

(Please note that the site above is what comes up first in google, it also happens that osCmax gets the highest score from their perspective, and that was before 2.5)

The second question has to do with skinning the look and feel for the cart. How you choose to do that is a personal preference. The default template (/catalog/templates/fallback/) is a working template that will provide anyone with a fully functional cart. It's not all gussied up and fancy, it is functional and shows all the features of osCmax, but NOT all the potential. If you know PHP and HTML then you can modify the template code to better meet your needs with styles and other features. If you know CSS you can bring even more to the interface for the user. If you want to go whole hog wild, you can move away from the table based system and move to CSS layouts with javascript and/or jquery.

If you are not familiar with PHP and HTML, you can generally find a freelancer who is. It is important that they have an understanding of the template system that is used with osCmax. That template system is called BTS. You can read more about the template system at: http://wiki.oscdox.com/v2.5/install_a_new_template
    so endith the lesson
    <think>sometimes I just sit's and thinks</think>
