500 internal server error

Yesterday everything was working fine and today I am getting a 500 internal server error

I can access appadmin, just not the shop. I added a few new products last night and edited a category, but don't think I've changed anything else.

I did a search through the archives here and have tried renaming/removing the .htaccess file as suggested and also looked through all the files that have been changed recently to see if I could spot a problem.

I see that 500 errors are very difficult to figure out, but would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction to getting my shop up and running again. Can I just replace a few files, or do I need to start from scratch?

It looks like you sorted it out, your site loads fine when I visit it.

It is working now, thank you for taking the time to respond. (I didn't see my thread appear here sorry, or I would have let you know it was resolved)

I submitted a ticket to my host at the same time as I posted here, and they got back to me some time later saying it was their 'issue' and it had now been fixed. (After losing a good four hours of my life trouble shooting and stressing out!!)

Just a note for anyone else who comes across the same problem...I had to restart my modem before the 500 error would stop appearing on my screen, even after the problem had been fixed...(clearing the cache and restarting the computer didn't work for some reason?)
