Default Images not Showing in 2.5vb3

    Hi,

Has anybody ran across the problem of the images for products not showing in the product_info pages? Mine are showing up as new products for the month, as small images for the grid and list view, but when you actually click on them to see more detail or to order, the images are replaced by the 'default' image.

Has the direction/pointer for the folder changed? Did I miss something in the installation? Just seems odd that the small versions are there but not the larger views.

While we are talking about images, before I did the upgrade, I also was no longer able to do a "zoom" on the small images to the bigger image. Same case in vb3. Any ideas on that?

Just as an FYI - when I copied all the files over for vb3, I did not copy exactly the image folder in catalog because I had already uploaded over 300+ pix into the database - so I did not overwrite 'products', images_big or thumbs.

    Please advise,
    Cindy

You need to upload the images directory in beta3 over your existing images directory. It will not remove any images that you already uploaded. It only replaces the osCmax files, not anything custom.

Post the image path of one of the broken images. If you right click the broken image and select "properties" you will see the full image path. Then compare that path to where the images actually are on your server.

Question Re: Images not Showing in 2.5vb3

Michael, we could do with a 2.5 section in the forum.
All these spurious postings (scattered about installation/mods) about the beta release is sure to confuse some about the stability of the General Release software, which ain't good.

Not gonna happen any time soon (new forums). That is what the 2.5 tag is for when posting new threads.

    Michael,

I went back and uploaded the image folder as requested. All my images are still there. However, nothing changed. My images are still there on the list and grid views, new products, etc....but when i click on the actual product - I get the default image which of course does not give me a path of where the right image should be.

So you think, did she change the default image to be 'false' in the configuration/images portion of the admin? Yes I did and guess what, it is still defaulting to that image. I cleared the cache, reloaded the page, etc.
Any ideas? I am sure I have missed something, but, not sure where to start digging. I even added a totally new image/product and it too is not loading after the conversion.

Uhhh.. I could have used a warning about the content on your site. My 4 year old just got an eyeful. Note to everyone - lots of nudity on that site so make sure no kids are around. Sheesh!

I see it is showing the default image. There was a new group of settings added to beta3 that could be causing this (or not). May need some testing.

Here is an update....I installed the v2.5b3 straight up - so not an upgrade - and the image issue is non-existent. The image shows in all place - list, grid, and product info AND it also does the zoom which had stopped working as well.

Not sure if that will help you, but just thought i would let you knw. it must be an upgrade issue, but I don't know for sure.

I considered just using this version, but I am having the same issue another person is having with easy populate. it is giving me error messages when i try to upload the exact file i downloaded from my database to the new site/v2.5b3 version. I will post in that forum area.....

    thanks,
    c
