I've suddenly run into some warning messages - even though we haven't made any changes to the site in weeks. All was working in the morning, but by mid afternoon we get the following:
Warning: eregi() [function.eregi]: REG_EMPTY in /mnt/r0212/d00/s26/b0146f70/www/domain/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 48
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /mnt/r0212/d00/s26/b0146f70/www/beachclocks/catalog/includes/application_top.php:4 in /mnt/r0212/d00/s26/b0146f70/www/domain/catalog/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 99
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /mnt/r0212/d00/s26/b0146f70/www/beachclocks/catalog/includes/application_top.php:4 in /mnt/r0212/d00/s26/b0146f70/www/domain/catalog/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 99
I read the stickies from last year about eregi and php5.3. Once I changed the php default on the host server from php5 to php4 via an htaccess "setenv PHPVERSION 4" command - and the site is now running fine again with no warnings. Yeay...
But now I get to my questions:
1) Why would this happen without warning on 19/11/2010 when no changes have been made to the site in weeks and all has been running well in osCMax 2.0.3/4 for the better part of a year? Yes, Yes - I'll be upgrading to 2.5 when available... but in the meantime, why all of a sudden do I get php warnings?
2) Will running on PHP4 create any other problems with osCMax 2.0.3/4 until I can upgrade to 2.5?
I know 2.0.4 is no longer supported in this forum, but any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...
GEORGE
