After install, no configure.php in oscmax dir

Running oscmax 2.0.25 with Debian etch,
apache 2.2.3,
php 5.2.0-8+etch16

About that blank page problem (admin and customers)
after executing the install script...

My catalog dir in /var/www is drwxr_xr_x so if I run the
install script within a webbrowser session, creating a new
file no can do ? I would say so.

So if no configure.php exist, no page will be displayed ?

But ... let me recap.

I have done all step in the install script with no error but
I ended with a blank page admin/catalog. no error login
in mysql, no error in apache log. and no configure.php in
catalog/include and catalog/admin/include

what's wrong with my system setup ?
