Added products/categories not showing in admin

Alright, I've been struggling with osCMax for some time now. I installed first on /catalog/ folder, then a fresh one at the root level, then I changed the SQL database to utf8_unicode, breaking the admin page (blank page), so I did a fresh install to /kauppa/ folder.

I've translated the language and template files and made sure I haven't broke anything. I haven't touched the database except for manually changing the encoding to utf8 on the database itself and on each table.

The installation went fine, everything seems to be working except the fact that when I add categories or products they don't show up on the Categories/products page, only on the web store itself. This obviously will not do, what can I do to correct this?

EDIT: Solved by dropping (i.e. deleting) all tables from osCMax database and re-installing.
