| Emails confirmation on placement of orders have stopped working since yesterday. I did set "Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS" to "true" in the hope that this would remove spam emails but I have since changed back to "false". Any suggestions please? Cheers |

| Suggestion #1: tail the mail log to see what is happening. It will tell you if the mail is actually being sent from the store. If it is, it will tell you exactly what is happening to that mail when it hits your mail server and the remote mail server as well.

| Thanks for the pointer. I have checked the email log for a couple of emails and they says they were sent but that an email address failed as there was no such user. I am convinced this started when I stupidly set "confirm emails by DNS" to true, in the hope of ensuring that customers were bona fide. Is there a file I could reinstall which would overwrite any DNS reference that has been stored? |

| Post the exact log entry, as there are several related to non-existent email addresses, and it fully depends on what the remote server is rejecting. Is the mail server rejecting your sender address, or is it rejecting the the recipient address?

| The problem is not osCmax, it is the recipient mail server. It thinks this address does not exist: Quote:

| So you dont think this because I set it to verify email by DNS? It was working fine til then, and I could put in an email address that didn't exist and it would send. Are there any files I could overwrite to reset the email? |

| How about just putting in an actual/real email address? Most mail servers do not allow sending to non-existent users. If the user doesn't exist, it cannot be delivered anywhere so it gets bounced back. It has nothing to do with verifying DNS, as this problem is not a dns problem. It is the mail server rejecting the mail because you are not sending it to an actual recipient.
