Sales Tax Not Figured During Checkout

I have all the info set-up for the sales tax but it is not being added during checkout. Also I have the show prices with tax set to false. Orders are going through ok other than no sales tax for the state I live in.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it but the gift voucher doesn't work either. When I go through check-out I get an error that says please select payment method. I have tried checking just the gift voucher box and tried checking one of my 3 payment options. I get the please select payment error for each.

make sure you are creating the sales tax folder for the state you want to specify under admin->locations/taxes. Also make sure you are enabling the tax under admin->modules->order total

Do you have another sales tax or state module installed in your oscmax?
