Default No admin login data saved

Have had a problem with being unable to login to admin after install. So have deleted previous install completely and followed the wiki exactly step by step to do a new install.

Used osCMax_v2_0_15.zip -- unzipped into root directory.

Set up mysql database, then ran the installer.

All went without a hitch i.e. no error or retry messages. Screen 5 "success".

Checked that I have catalog/admin/includes/configure.php -- all data in it appears to be correct.

Attempt to login to admin area using the username and password I entered in screen 4 .... ERROR: Wrong username or password!

Again, when I check the database with phpmyadmin, there are 95 tables -- but the admin table is empty of data. So the entries on screen 4 of install have not been saved.

Any clues as to the solution of this??

    Thanks
    Ron

Question Re: No admin login data saved

Is this a server install, or a local installation?
Also useful; the version of mySQL, PHP, Apache and any PHP security hardening.
Have you given the database username full access rights to the database?
Hosting plans with installation, configuration, contributions, support and maintenance.

Default Re: No admin login data saved

This is a local server install - running iis7 on windows 7.

    MySQL client version: 5.0.45
    php version 5.2.5

the database user has "all privileges"

postscript: I found a post from Michael_s that gave the hash for a generic password -- so made a manual entry in the admin table, and am now able to login! But somehting obviously went astray in the install process: I wonder if any other have same problem?

Smile Re: No admin login data saved

It might be an iis issue ... not always the best for osCommerce derivatives - as most people don't use it - so it doesn't get as much testing ...
