    Thank you for your reply. I understand that concept as I have read through the Gift Voucher FAQ that comes complete with the site. My IT person, and myself, have looked through everything on-line and haven't been able to find anything as to how a customer purchases a Gift Voucher or what module needs to be activated to allow customers to purchase them.

    I was assisted by ridexbuilder last week, but the way he showed me was exactly the same as the Gift Cards that we already offer. I then went into Voucher/Coupons and was able to setup a Voucher, but that was for customers the created an account and did give a Gift Voucher number that could be used at time of checkout. Neither of these resolves the questions. I want it to work just as it describes in the Gift Voucher FAQ.

    Nothing needs to be activated. You create the gift voucher product just like any other product. Just make sure the model/product number starts with GIFT so that the system knows you want it to be a gift voucher. Weight needs to be 0 for vouchers too.

    Then, to purchase a voucher, all a customer has to do is go to your store, add the voucher to their cart and checkout. At that point, the system will add a voucher to the admin queue that you need to approve. Once approved, the voucher will be applied to the customer's account and they can either use it or send it to someone. That is all there is to it.

    I still don't understand how a customer can purchase a Gift Voucher. There is nothing for them to click on to purchase one. Thus, there is no way for them to add it to their shopping cart. As stated earlier, ridexbuilder showed me an example where he created a product to be purchased, called a Gift Voucher, but that was just a product to be added to someones cart. Or, is that how it is done and with the start of "GIFT" the system just knows that this is a Gift Voucher. If that is the case, I need to make one for each denomination that is available?

    michael_s,

    For some reason I didn't get the rest of your message before replying back. I now understand that I just need to add the Gift Vouchers as product items, which are purchasable by customers, and then when they purchase that item I will then go to the Gift Voucher queue and activate once the payment has been finalized.

    If you just create a regular product in a Gift Voucher category, how does the catalog know it's a gift voucher and needs to go in the gift voucher Queue?

    By inference, a 'regular' product wouldn't go in the queue.

    i am stuck with the gift vouchers redemption. when a customer purchase a Gift Voucher valued $50. it does not add to the que to be approved by the admin even name is starting with a GIFT. any suggestions please help.

    2ndly it does not go the the order confirmation and and keep asking again to select the payment method.

    Not to jump into things with this extensive conversation on gift vouchers - but I just want to confirm with oscmax 2.5 beta 2 (compromise template), I see my gift vouchers listed under admin->vouchers->Purchased Gift Voucher Release, "after" my customers purchase the gift voucher from the front end of the store. I think that is the normal flow of things right?

    Yes that is the correct workflow. You will see the vouchers in the queue only after they have been purchased as an admin.
