Stylesheets Not Displaying On Clean Install

Hi All,

I have a site i'm working on where the database is stored on my server and the files on another server (I think this is what is causing the problem below).

The install went through fine without any errors/problems however whenever I view the admin area or catalog page the stylesheets don't appear to show up. I've wiped it all and installed a fresh version but still the same thing, I switched templates and no difference. All the page content is showing plus most of the images (ones not defined in the stylesheet i'm guessing) but no joy.

Am I correct in thinking that it's to do with the files and database being on differenet servers as i've not had this problem on any other Oscmax site I've worked on in the past?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated,

Probably not due to db being on a remote server. I have hundreds of sites set up that way and they require nothing special at the osCMax level. Your problem is most likely a bad path or cookie domain in the configure.php files.

View the source and see where it is expecting the style sheet to be and compare that to where it actually is.

Thanks for getting back to me, have been trawling the forums and turns out it's an IIS htaccess issue like this guy had - Fresh install and all over the place

Have renamed the htaccess files and it's all okay now.

Ok, I guess the real question is why you are running IIS

In the osCMax world, if you don't specifically call out that you are doing something silly like using IIS, we assume you are using the recommended platform of LAMP or the very least WAMP. Be sure to always include the fact that you are on Windows using IIS, as we do not test on that platform, so we will not have much info for you.

Hi Michael,

I'm not, I always use Apache/Linux but this site has to be on an IIS server as the guy running it doesn't want to move it to a different server.

This is where you try to explain that what he wants is not necessarily what he needs, and you get ignored. Good luck with IIS, hopefully you will get it all sorted out and nothing new will crop up for ya.
