Category and Product links broken after upgrade from rc3 to rc4

In rc3 i was not using SEO URLs, after upgrading to rc4 all of the category and product URL's on my site converted from http://efta.us/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=75 to http://efta.us/catalog/sonic-view-sv...mier-p-75.html

The old URL's seem to automatically redirect to the new ones, this is fine except for one major issue.

The new URL's don't work, I get a 404 error, page not found.

I tried turning SEO URL's on, and then back off, checked the WC3 was off, tried turning it on and back off.

Nothing I have done seems to help. The upgrade went fine except for this issue, unfortunately this is keeping anyone from using my cart!

In the .htaccess file - did you un-comment the rewrite rules? With out that it can't convert actual path to the SEO path.

Yes, I found another post regarding the htaccess, it was just buried several pages back and wasn't coming up in searches regarding 404 not found or SEO URL, so it took me more searching.

However I have a whole host of new problems since the upgrade and getting that fixed.

1. Specials, my specials appear and disappear from the site, when they are there if you click to buy an item on special it shows the special on the product page but does not charge the correct price in the cart, it charges the full retail even though the special prices shows up. Sometimes the specials disappear entirely, the specials page shows no products, nor do they appear in the product pages as special discount prices. This is confusing me because it is not consistent, sometimes they show and sometimes they don't, however it seems consistent that it does not show the correct price in the invoice at checkout.

2. Affiliate program does not credit sales, it tracks impressions and clickthroughs but no sales are credited. (this was the reason I upgraded to the current version and it did not fix the problem)

3. coupon codes do not work correctly since upgrade, they appear in the invoice at checkout (and after order completion), but when sent to the payment module the full price before coupon is what the customer is charged, I have had to make partial refunds on several orders, who knows how many people just quit part way through because the wrong amount was being charged, I have no doubt this issue will cost me sales.

Today I plan to make a fresh install of my cart in a new directory port some products and affiliate information and make some test sales and see if the coupons, affiliates, and specials work from a new install. If so I will just copy all products to the new cart system. I hate doing this because I am listed well on google for my products and this will certainly reduce my rankings, but if that fixes it (which I am thinking it will not fix it anyway) then I will go with it, but these problems are major issues for my operation and I can not just go on with the cart the way it is.

My webhost is hostgator if that helps, it is cpanel also. Any known issues with this host or control panel?? Suggestions?

I am hopeful to have all these issues resovled today.

3. I note that you are using Paypal with which there are some well documented bugs with the vouchers and this payment module. There has been a new release recently that fixes the problems and will be released in version 2.1. (But you can install it now if you want). Read the thread here. Or go straight to the upgrade script.

Ps. I have also tried a couple of your specials and they carry the correct price through the checkout on your site - I did try and push it through to paypal but I don't have a valid address in the US so Paypal rejects me. Your 4 specials did not move around or disappear when I tested it. However, some of the infoboxes on the right hand side do appear and disappear ... specials, tell a friend and reviews. Not sure what is causing this ...

oops i meant specials, not coupon codes, the paypal ipn upgrade should fix the coupons according to what i've read...

Is the issue with the specials infobox on the right hand side or another problem that I have not seen?

its not an infobox problem that i was aware of, the specials show in the front page center right above new products, they are there sometimes and sometimes not, when they are not there the infobox for specials is also missing. as far as i can tell all other infoboxes are ok

my shipping is also behaving a bit quirky, some customers are not being charged shipping, where shipping should be in the invoice there is a 1: $1.00, which is what they are charged instead of UPS **shipping speed** (1x weight): $x.xx, most of the time that works, i have about 1 customer out of 10 or more who gets shipping for $1.00 and it does not appear correctly in invoice.

still no idea on the issue with affiliate program.

Shipping issue: make sure all your products have a weight that is not set to 0 or blank. That will disable shipping. Also make sure you have not selected a zone for the shipping module, or it will only appear in that zone. If a customer has an address out of the selected zone, they will not see that method.

If specials are appearing and then disappearing, clear your cache, both in the osC admin panel and in your browser. It sounds like a cached page problem to me.

If my suggestions don't work to clear this up, post a link to the site so we can test the behavior for you.
