Installing OscMax

Hi

Have installed OscMax as per the instruction manual and all is working fine.

However, instead of uploading all the files to the Catalog folder can I instead install directly to the root so that visitors to my site don't have to type in www.yourdomain.com/catalog to visit the shop or create a redirect url or .htaccess file.

Is there a particular reason for using the catalog folder?

Structure & coherence.
What if you want a number of different types of package on the same site?
Read the instructions, if adamant to put in the root - there is a mention of it.

Not everyone uses oscmax for there MAIN webpage. Thus it is NORMALLY installed in a separate directory so you can have your standard website (about us/product specifications/product registrations/download drivers & Manuals/blogs/forums/ etc....)
then have a "shop" or "Purchase products here" or whatever link.

If you don't need/want all that - install in root of your web server http directory. Or do an auto-redirect to catalog etc....
