    Default OscMax & data base

This is my first OscMax install. Also it is on an add on domain. I've used Osc before without problems. After I create the Sql data base and make users etc. I run the install script and it tells me (User access denied to data base with password:yes) I've not used yes as the password. I've redone everything a couple times with the same results. I'm not sure what's going on.

password:yes means that you are using a password, not that the password is yes

This means that your username/password combo that you are inputing into the osCMax installer is not correct. It is nothing more complicated than that.

I went thru it a few more times being careful to not make mistakes & never did get it to work. So I deleted everything and installed OSC instead of OSCMax with no problems.

It is user error, as the osCMax mysql connection code in the installer is identical to the osCommerce installer connection code. It really is that simple.

I have done several thousand installs of oscmax and it never has a problem connecting to the database server unless I screw up the username/password or hostname.
