Default Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file

I have seen some other closed threads on this, but no real resolution.

I have both Filezilla and CuteFTP and cannot get rid ot the message. Going to 444 will not work as when I come back it is still 644.

It seems this is a fairly common problem and I hate to get my server people to do what I should be able to handle on my own.

In your FTP client, change the permissions to 444. Pretty straightforward. If the permissions "revert" to 644, then they were never actually changed to 444.

In which case, guess what? You need to contact your host to change the permissions, and then ask them how to change the permissions in the future.
