3 days banging my head...and it was over in 2 minutes!
I was just doing a new OSCMAX installation on a Windows VMware machine (yup), and this did the trick for me too. I was having the infinite loop redirection when trying to login on the admin section, changin this seting to ON on my php.ini did the trick for me (even this is probably not even close to a standard setup for a live store)
