Default £ symbol problems in localization

For some reason when I enter a new currency in localization it doesn't save the symbol when I update it.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Just tried it and works ok over here.

I only have EUR setup, sorry if I translate some settings wrongly, I have my admin section in spanish.

On Localization/currencies I have Euro (default). I edit it, and this is what I have:

Title: Euro
Code: EUR
Sign on the left: (empty)
Sign on the right: EUR
Decimal: .
Thousands separator: ,
Decimal places: 2
Value: 1.00000000

Now, if I change "Sign on the right" from EUR to € and update it, I check out one of my items on the store and priced has changed from 50EUR to 50€. I also tried changing "Sign on the right" to £, and there it was,my item was selling for 50£

So it does seem to work ok over here...

Okay, I've just tried other symbols like $ and € ion the right and left and they're working fine. There just seems to be a problem with the £ symbol.

Any ideas?
