Default email.php issues

I have a fresh install of oscMax newest release. I am getting errors every time the program tries to send an email. I get the following errors:

Warning: mb_strstr() [function.mb-strstr]: Empty haystack in /var/www/geekstore/includes/classes/email.php on line 487

Warning: mb_strstr() [function.mb-strstr]: Empty haystack in /var/www/geekstore/includes/classes/email.php on line 487

Warning: mb_send_mail() [function.mb-send-mail]: Unsupported charset ""iso-8859-1"" - will be regarded as ascii in /var/www/geekstore/includes/classes/email.php on line 522

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/geekstore/includes/classes/email.php:487) in /var/www/geekstore/includes/functions/general.php on line 34

Any help on this would be appreciated. I am running PHP 5, mysql 5, apache2, on debian server. All seems to be working but I get those errors even though emails are sent.

PS The standard osc ms2 runs fine on my system without the errors. I have already tried replacing the email.php with the one from MS2 standard.

Question Re: email.php issues

What verison of PHP is being run on your server? It may be related to this: PHP Bugs: #39361: mbstring function overloading - done although not activated

Default Re: email.php issues

Yes I looked at the php.ini file and set the mb-func from 7 to 0 and it seems to be working fine now. Thank you.
