php5.25 bugs

Hi,

one of my customer's sites now bleats about FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it! and fails to load. Another complains about cookie usage which is new and a little infuriating.

Any tips on these bugs?

Neither are bugs.

Your php is not configured to run osCMax, thus the register globals error. Register globals needs to be on in your php.ini or htaccess.

Register_Globals is Off!!!!!!


Your sessions/cookies settings or paths are also not properly setup, thus the cookie usage page.

Ive sorted the first problem, it was a little more obvious.

The second problem is that oscmax is attempting to write the session to a location it cant get too? Ill have to fish around in a few files as its also killed the admin interface.

Just edit your includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php . Change the session storage method to 'mysql' and your problem will be solved.

I setup oscmax2 rc3 0 1 and it won't get past the install on php5 i installed php4 and it installed fine. another issue i'm having is that cache control causes the site to just not load the catalog. seo works fine and another problem is that ups xml doesn't work but regular ups works.

Regarding the cache, there are two links in the admin, one is deprecated and will be removed (Cache). You want the second link near the bottom of the configuration links : Page Cache

As for UPS-XML, it works fine. Post your problem to the UPS-XML forum.

as far as page cache is 5 minutes sufficient? or should i set it higher? also i had to up my php ram limit to about 50M is that normal? I haven't had to do that in the past.

I am running osCMax on a php memory limit of 8M with no issues.

how strange.
quick question:
say where is the temp_pdf folder supposed to be? i keep getting an error even though i created it in the root catalog dir and the admin dir. (i set proper permissions too)
