do CreLoaded templates work on oscmax? Also do oscommerce contribs work on oscmax?

hi guys, i'm trying to work around a template issue so i can upgrade from oscommerce to oscmax.

Does anyone know if cre loaded templates work on oscmax? i heard they run on the same template system.

Also i have some contributions from oscommerce 2.2 that i like (havnt read fully if they are included in osmax, slack atm sorry) will they work on oscmax?

Crealoded templates will not work without modification. They are not compatible by default. They can be made to work though, if you are fairly skilled at php/html.

Most contribs will work with osCMax, you just have to take into account that there are already a lot of contribs pre installed, and will have to work around/with them.

1) there are a number of max templates out there now for you to consider
2) I have yet to see a contrib that didn't work with max. some require a bit more work than others, but I haven't found one I couldn't install if I wanted to

i cant seem to find more then a hand full of templates for oscmax... can anyone send me through to some sites?... i know of themestock, and a couple of other major template sites but cant find anymore.

We have over 70 different osCMax templates in our store. That qualifies as more than a handful...

also, not to go "nuts" on you, but if you have any ability to do minimal photoshop, you can make even minor changes to a template and get a working model that looks real nice.

Of course my partner and I have been having this argument for five years now. He does the graphics, I do the code. The debate has always been about usability verse pretty. I have spent years pointing out to him that "text" sells images don't. We finally ran a simple test on a site that had been up for over a year with a oscMAX that had a large image on the front page. We replaced it with a series of nice looking text boxes with specific content to the site. It moved up 2 pages in google. I rested my case.
