specials, new products and infobox admin

 specials, new products and infobox admin Specials only show in the centre bottom of my store... I can't make them show on the left or the right using the infobox... New products shows on the side AND the bottom, specials only on the bottom. How do I make specials show on the sides rather than the bottom part of the page? toggling sides or on/off in infobox admin seems to do nothing. if i turn off new products from the bottom will it stop showing on the side?
