| Hello all, I have a development server here I am working on. I was using osCommerce but really liked the features of osCmax so I decided to give it a try. I got the install done, figured out how to port my already STS ported template to BTS and all seemed ok there except I can't seem find a simple list of template tags. So I decided to do a test run and add a product to the cart. Your Cart Is Empty. Hmm... Try it again, same thing. The system will not allow me to add products to the cart. After install I merged the add-weight-to-products-attribute contrib and it seems to be working well. That seems to be the only place I might have messed it up but it works good in the admin side. Any ideas? I really want to take my osC down and this oscmax up on the live server but not if it won't take orders. Thanks in advance. By the way I am new to OSC and not a coder so please please please make it simple if you can. |

| I tried to install just the RC3 on a wamp server and I still can not place an order. Has anyone else had this problem? Everything else does just fine, I get no errors but it will not let me place the order. Grrr... I guess I will try the RC2 and see if it works. Last edited by rwperkinsjr; 01-16-2008 at 06:32 PM. | Don't use RC2... there are critical security holes in it. Stick with RC3. Not adding to the cart usually means a sessions/cookie problem. To avoid that, make sure you store sessions in the database (that is the easiest way around that). I have seen this before, and it always seems to be related to the sessions/cookies settings as I recall. I have a test WAMP server that works fine for RC3, so I know it works when installed correctly Do a test install on you linux server, it should run with no issues... Windows has some quirks to it (paths, etc) compared to linux.

| Okay, I put RC3 back in, no go still would not add to cart. So I put RC2 in then immediately put the RC3 UPGRADE files on top of that. To my surprise I did not have to mess with register globals. whew. After overwriting all the files in my public_html files folder on my wamp server with the upgrade files i did a clean install on a fresh database (of course). Added a product to the system and ran a test run. It works. I still do not know why the stock RC3 would not work and the RC2/RC3 UPGRADE combo does but, Oh well it is working. Now I will merge the add weight to product attribute contrib. and cross my fingers. I am still looking for anyone that has a cheat sheet for the BTS system. I can look in the templates present with RC3 but I would prefer if there was a list and I am just missing it somewhere. I also use a professional affiliate program and am wondering if there is an easy way to turn the built in one off. Love this thanks alot. |
