Can i run multiple sites from one database

Im trying to set up 4 sites in a way where as i can upload new products to one site and it updates all four sites, all the domains are on the same ip/host. and using the first sites dedicated SSL as a shared SSL on the other sites.

So far its all going well i have the second domain set up and its loading products from the first database, i have the images loading from the first site, but for some reason morepics is not working, the click to enlarge link has dissapeared. you can check it out here. Its working on the first site but not the second.

Any ideas why?

I know i have a lot of work ahead sorting out meta tags and other things like store emails etc, but can anyone help with the enlarge image problem.

Has anyone done anything like this before and documented a how to guide?

The problem is most likely that the paths on the server are different for the second site than the first. You will have to look closely at the paths and tweak them to get it to work.

As for actually doing this, I have never tried it, so I cannot be much more help than that. There is a multi-stores mod already that you may want to try:

Then just use dns management to point domains to specific locations. Seems easier than what you are attempting, but I could be way off base... just a suggestion.

Thanks for the link, it seems to be a good solution, howerver a lot people seem to have problems with it and im so close doing it this way with just the "click to enlarge" not working. i would love to find a way to get that fixed.
