Adding Custom Fields

I need to add custom fields that are individual to each person or entry in the address book such as a gift recipients phone number in case the address is wrong, in original order for an expected delivery date, and gift card information. I do not know enough about PHP to write it myself but am capable of copy and pasting it in place. Please help.
