Angry Unable to create a customer

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help.....I have just installed the cart with no problems......

The only issue I seem to have is that I am unable to create customer either via the admin panel or the main cart......I am running windows 2003

The error I get is

1364 - Field 'customers_payment_allowed' doesn't have a default value

I have looked at the options but I cant find a way to enter this information.

Thanks

Karl

Just as an extra bit of info, I edited the customers table in the database to allow a NULL value for the customers_payment_allowed and customers_shipment_allowed which then allowed me to create a customer, but now I get

1364 - Field 'payment_method' doesn't have a default value

When I try and create an order with that customer.

This issue has now been resolved. We needed to make some changes in mySQL 5, to make it compatible with v 4. If anyone needs specific details I will post.

Please share, I am sure there are others that have had issues like this. Post the fix, and I will pin it to the top of the forum.

Is there a standard default value to enter into Mysql 5.045

Hello all,

I would like to thank all of you here that have worked diligently on this product. Its definitely a really nice package and it does require some leg work, but like most good things in life they should not be so easy!
I am wondering if you have the updated file for this issue with MySQL ver 5. I have the site all up and working, and was a little shocked when I rec'd the 1364. At first it was the Gender so I set the default to M, and then it was payment_type_allowed. I figured I better stop there, and actually try to check out by creating an account. Well that bombed on me too. I really need to get this site up soon, so if you have any direction as to how to fix this issue please guide me. Thanks in advance.
Platform: PHP5.1, MySQL 5.0 Community, and IIS 6.

It is a server level issue, as I am running it on mysql5 without any errors.

Default Re: Unable to create a customer

I've combed the admin tool inside, and out. I dont see where I set the default method of payment. I've overcame a lot of obstacles already but this one is reclusive in sourcing the solution. Also my admin tool drops an error when trying to create an account (Parser Error....modules\account_details.php on line 485). I dont think they are related, but they could be signs of something Im not aware of that needs to be configured before moving forward. Anyone have any ideas?

rkah, I think your problem is not related to this thread. I suggest you start a new thread with full error details so as not to fork this thread off topic

Lightbulb Re: Unable to create a customer

Had a simlar problem . I started changing default values in MySql Database to get things to work. Then I ran into a problem with "purchase with out account" not working. Long story short I turned off Strict SQL under Advanced Config tab in MySQL 5.04. Everything started working.

Hope this helps out
