I can't believe the problems I'm having with this install. It's oscmax2_RC3_0_1.zip, this is the 3rd time I've unpacked this zip file, copied it into a folder of it's very own and installed it. I set up a data base, I start to load the software, I C/P the info into the program as it is installing, it seems now that I took care of the php.ini file issue it's going to run and work properly. The program installed, but now it's asking for an email address and password. the program didn't ask me for one during the install, why does it assume I have one? I know it's 2 am and I've been up probably since 2 am yesterday, but what am I missing? Is it printed in front of my face and I'm just missing it? Thank you, ~eDee I don't know how to delete a post, but forget it I found the hidden away files. Last edited by justedee; 10-10-2007 at 11:07 PM.

| Yes it is the most obvious. Read the readme file included with the package, or read the docs on this site that detail the installation, or read the sticky in osCMax installation forums that deals with the admin login. Here are the links to the different places it is covered: http://www.oscmax.com/book/oscmax_faq http://www.oscmax.com/book/oscmax_installation_manual Admin Login For the 1000th time, the default login is, always has been, and always will be: email: admin@localhost.com pw: admin AMEN.

Don’t take this the wrong way because believe me I appreciate your help, but maybe cutting back a little on the caffeine would reduce the stress level. I am relatively sure this is not the 1000’s time I’ve asked, probably the second. I’m not sure which documentation you are referring, nothing came with this version of OSC. Other versions of Osc have documentation and large manuals, but not this one. And just so you know I did go looking for the answer, here is the problem. See the image below? See the link that reads: 1. What is the default login information for osCMax? That to me is the obvious link to click for the answer. However that link just refreshes the page. The not so obvious link at the top of the page looks like the title for the information below. If the “1. What is the default login information for osCMax?” link actually directed us somewhere, you probably won’t get that questions so oven – maybe. As a former Tech Assist for the Panasonic call center in Langhorne, a monitor and active member of several eBay and HTML forums, I can tell you there are only so many questions that can be asked, so they are bound to be repeated over and over again. I think I answer the question “How do I upload an image” 15 times a day even though there are is a detailed – step by step - sticky post with pictures. It just comes with the job. I love telling people what to do, so I love being a monitor. Again I REALLY appreciate all the time you take answering these questions, I would have tossed this version of OSC ages ago if it wasn’t for YOU specifically. I have tried to go back to the NEW version of the old Osc many times, but there are a few features in MAX you can’t get in the other versions. They have made a lot of improvements, I tried to move back last week, but…….. As soon as they improve “EP” and “product attributes” I will move back I promise. ![]()

Hi justedee, When you uncompress oscmax2_RC3_0_1.zip (which I just downloaded from www.oscmax.com by following the link on the top that says "download oscmax") you get one subfolder named "catalog" with all the goodies, one PDF file, and 10 text files. First one I just opened is README_osCMax_2_0.txt. Right there on the first page, you have: ---- The default login for the admin is: email address : admin@localhost.com password: admin ----- There is also a file called INSTALL with the following contents: ----- osC-MAX v2.0 Install Documentation Please see the following web page for installation documentation: http://oscdox.com/modules.php?op=mod...=Ms2MaxInstall ----- And if you follow that link, you endup on a web page that seems related to OSCMAX 1.7, and not 2.0. So yes, obviously there is some lacking/outdated documentation with OSCMAX, but the default login is really not part of that.

When I downloaded it I receive a catalog file w/ many files in it. I receive a few files that gave me errors when I attempted to open them, none of them read "read me". I think one read extra and one had a bunch of numbers as a file name. I'm trying to remember, I deleted them after I installed the program and it worked, I figured I didn't need them. Maybe something went wrong with the download, but I received the entire catalog folder - as far as I know. ~eDee
