Converting contribs to BTS templating system

Has anyone converted the osC Affiliate Category Banners Add-On contrib found at osCommerce: osC Affiliate to the BTS templating system, or can someone direct me to a tutorial on how to do this? I am running into lots of contribs I want to add but can't because I am using oscMAX which uses the BTS Basic Templating System and I don't understand what needs moved. I don't understand much php.
