I know this sounds minor, but I remember my own beginning web design days and trying to include an affiliate banner into my own site back then... so I would like to save my potential affiliates (and myself when they email asking for help) the headache i forsee coming from this issue... sorry if this question has already been posted and answered, but i couldn't find it if it has been...
that said, here is the issue:
The affiliate program seems to functional correctly in as much as creating custom banners, adding general banners, clickthroughs and purchase records, but I have discovered a minor flaw in the way it displays the banner linking code for the affiliates.
It shows the banner on the page, and below that is a text area which should contain linking code formatted something like this:
instead the textarea contains this:Code:<a href="affiliate link.url"><img src="banner link.gif"></a>
Which if you if you place that code into a webpage prints the code on the page and does not display the banner, which could confuse new website owners and result in lower affiliate promotion because for every 1 that asks a question 5 will just drop out of the program (or never put it on their site which would be the same result for me).Code:<a href="http://efta.us/store/index.php?ref=1&affiliate_banner_id=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://efta.us/store/affiliate_show_banner.php?ref=1&affiliate_banner_id=2" border="0" alt="EFTA125-1"></a>
I looked in includes/languages/ in the affiliates php files for where it formatted this text area and could not find it, nor was it in catalog/affiliate_banners.php
any ideas?
