How to charge TAX on taxable product only, not PRODUCT & TOTAL shopping cart ?

Hi everyone,

How to charge TAX on taxable item, NOT taxable product + total of shopping cart ? Somehow when I was trying to test my cart, it tax TWICE on my shopping cart ---> Tax on product + tax on total of shopping cart..

check the sort order of the order total modules.

A couple of gottchya's to look out for.
1) if you are using Low Order Fee it's non taxable
2) if you are using discount coupons it taxable

Generally the order is:
Discount Coupons
Low Order Fee
Loyalty Discount
subtotal
tax
shipping
GV
total

Everything above the subtotal effects tax
Everything after the subtotal does not

If your location requires you to tax on shipping, move it above the subtotal.
