    Default Attributes setup

I've set up a site with two products under one category. When I go to the checkout page there is no option for a Shipping Address nor for selection from one of the shipping contribs I've installed (I.e. UPS XML). It seems from looking at the code that the only "installed attribute" is 'virtual'. Hence when it's time for checkout, shipping is skipped for 'virtual' products.

I've tried to find documentation but the page for attributes is blank.

I do not intend to sell virtual products so I removed the 'virtual' product ID/name from the 'attributes' page but still do not get to shipping info.

Can someone provide a quick/easy setup for inventoried products that ship so that I can complete the test setup for this site?

    thanks,
    tony

I have gotten around this by deleting the 'virtual' attribute ID an added a new attribute name of 'color' and simply not associated any products with it.

This is a poorly documented area and seems to assume that most merchants will be shipping 'virtual' products by default.

Your problem has nothing to do with attributes, really. You need to set a product weight. I bet it is currently 0 for these products.

If weight is 0, osCMax assumes a virtual product, since it has no weight.

No, there is no assumption made regarding virtual products, otherwise. The virtual attribute is already installed, so that all you have to do is set weight to zero and you are good to go. Set weight to non-zero, and shipping works for shippable products as expected.

Okay, that makes sense... Be nice if that was in some documentation somewhere....

Any idea why my UPS XML is showing FedEx in the order_processing area rather than the UPS shipping options?

It is in the downloads documentation in the original wiki, but not all of it has been moved over to the new site yet, so it is hard to locate. A simple search of the forums on skip shipping would find your answer as this is a common beginner issue.
