Default Help! Easy Populate messed up my DB

I am testing a OScMax store, and attempted to import 10,000 products via EP, using FTP to get the file into my /TEMP. Once the DB insert feature finished, I began to get this error:
    1226 - User 'specopst_p_os1' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 50000)

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

    [TEP STOP]

This happens whether I try to go into my Admin panel, or into the catalog. I tried doing a DB restore twice from a recent backup, but it did not seem to help.
    Thanks in advance.

This has nothing to do with oscmax. It has to do with your server/host settings for mysql. They have placed a limit of 50k questions on your db and will not allow you any more resources.

Thanks for the clarification. I presume I will need to call my web hosting company, and ask for their assistance. Any suggestions as to how best to describe the issue to them? They are quick to say "we allow but don't support OScommerce". I will need to make it clear that it's a SQL issue.
    thanks.

Just tell them the error message that the mysql server is sending and don't mention the application. Ask them to correct the problem so you don't get the error message anymore.

you may want to consider a host that either does not limit mysql in this way or supports oscommerce.

I spoke to my Host's tech support this morning, and they were able to unlock my SQL DB. However, they did say that this would happen again if I submit more than 50,000 SQL requests per hour.
Can you recommend a "safe" amount of new product records which will keep me from running into this issue? Apparently, each of the 10,000 products generated 5 or more requests.
    Thanks.

A safe amount would be 49,999.

So do 5000 products per hour until you are done.

Sorry to hear about your problem - This has happened to other people when they use EP to import 1000s of items in bulk.

Suggestion - Setup a localhost using a LAMP/MAMP/WAMP package - Set it up just like your live server. Use this internal test to import ALL of your items. Use the ADMIN "BACKUP" feature - copy that file to your LIVE shop and "RESTORE" this file.

Max has about 2000 lines of SQL to wipe and install the core file - Each item will add on average 3 (no need to add 1-3 query for each item to see if it exists in the table - all will be wiped out first.)

IF YOU CAN'T DO THIS THEN MOVE! As your data will only get larger.

You might have to upgrade/get a "larger" plan with your current host. You could EXPLAIN to your HOST that you are extensively testing and your not live yet to move to another less populated server with larger limit/no limit or temporally remove this limit on your server.

IF THEY WILL NOT DO THIS THEN MOVE!

Don't start up with a BAD HOSTING COMPANY!

    Good luck!
