| Hi, I've been working on an installation of oscmax for a month or two now, it's close to completion however recently i'm unable to save changes to the mainpage in the admin area (i've been able to make several changes to it in the past few weeks when i've been working on the site). I've checked my file space quote on my hosting package and it's fine, i have plenty of space left then i did a search on these forums and found a few other people with a simiair-ish problem (most were having the same problem on a fresh install), as suggested in the replies to other peoples problems i've chmod'd the mainpage.php file in the english language folder to 777 but it's still giving me the same error. Whenever i go to save it goes to my default "Error, this page is forbidden" error page. All the other pages (conditions of use, privacy etc) are all fine and i can write to them and save. Anyone got any ideas/come across this before? Many thanks James |

| Forbidden means that either the permissions or ownership are incorrect. Make sure your account/username owns the file and make sure it is the correct permissions for your server. It could be 666 instead of 777. If all else fails, just have your host fix it. Should take less time than posting here and waiting for a reply

| Hi Michael, Thanks for the reply. Just tried 666 for the permissions and that didn't seem to have any effect. I dont think it would be a problem with the hosting provider as it's been working fine for a couple of months now, I only just used the mainpage admin tool last week without any problems and no settings have changed on the hosting package. I'll contact them and see what they say. Thanks again for your help. James |

| I don't think it is a problem with the hosting provider. I think it is a file ownership problem and only root/administrators (read - your hosting company) can fix it.
