Hello, I do NOT want to use an SSL Certificate, I want a shopping cart that takes the customers to Authorize.net's secure page to make the payment.
Does oscmax or oscommerce do this?
Thanks,
Andy

No, both osCMax and osCommerce use the AIM connection.
Why don't you want to get a SSL Certificate?
The Authorize.net module that Max uses is "Authorize.net Consolidated v1.7", which works very well, but you will need SSL. Authorize.net told me several years ago that the AIM system was the best way to conduct transactions. A lot of customers do not want to be taken to a payment gateway and they want to see secure pages on your site. If you are serious about selling on the internet get an SSL and get a SSL certificate. The money you save by not having the right setup will cost you more in lost sales.
If you aren't very serious about selling on the internet then why not just use Paypal?
John
I have been using PayPal. I just got Authorize.net because so many of my forum members hate paypal. All I will be using the Authorize.net and PayPal for is Premium Memberships on my forum ($25 a piece) and merchandise, which is why I'm looking for a shopping cart that will allow this. I just need something simple. If I was selling truck parts, I would agree with you totally.
Does anyone know of a solution for me? I have Authorize.net and I just need to sell a handful of merchandise items on my forums: www.powerstroke.org and www.cumminsforum.com
Thanks,
Andy
Hi Andy,
I see your point. Actually, I was poking around in my Authroize.net account today looking for something else and I looked at all the options and I don't think they have that capability but they do have live support online you could enquire with. I guess you know they have a virtual terminal if someone calls in a card to you that you can log in and access.
When I first started with them in 2002 they had a simple web connect system that they discontinued right after I got started and forced everyone using that to upgrade or leave.
Good Luck
John
