Default Shipping Modules suddenly stopped working?

OK, this is weird.

I have a new install of the latest osCMax. Haven't added anything to the default installation, been adding content, testing, etc. Everything was going fine...

...then the last day or two the client noticed that shipping charges weren't being carried over to PayPal. So I started trying different shipping options to see what I could see, and it appears that no matter what shipping option I enable, it doesn't show up as a choice during checkout.

That is to say, I've enabled/disabled/re-enabled a variety of shipping options, but during a logged-into-my-account checkout, NO shipping options are being displayed.

Anybody have this happen, or have a theory on what could cause this? Is there already a thread for this that I just didn't find? Any help will, of course, be most appreciated...

BTW: http://67.18.100.98/~overlook/ -- that's the store in question

Default RE: Shipping Modules suddenly stopped working?

You need to add a weight for each of your products... If it is zero or not set, shipping is disabled automatically as this is reserved for downloads and gift vouchers.

I knew I'd forget to mention something - I have 2 items in the shopping cart, one with a weight of 1.00 and one with a weight of 1.80 -- so it isn't that

Then you have misconfigured something else... perhaps your shipping zones. Backtrack your changes until it starts working.

Then maybe I am *seriously* missing something. Under CONFIG > SHIPPING/PACKAGING:

Country of Origin United States
Postal Code 30141
Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship 70
Package Tare weight. 1
Larger packages - percentage increase. (blank)

Under MODULES > SHIPPING:

Flat Rate
Table Rate (with default settings)
UPS

With the above settings, "Table Rate" is the only option being given for shipping, and it's not carrying over to PayPal.

I wasn't 100% sure what you meant by Shipping Zone, so I did some searching on this forum and found your post HERE.

I went back and checked and, sure enough, the client had deleted all tax zones and info, so I reset everything:

LOCATIONS / TAXES > TAX ZONES :

Created new zone Georgia, set to United States / Georgia

LOCATIONS / TAXES > TAX RATES:

Created new Taxable Item, in Zone Georgia with a rate of 5% (for now)

This didn't help anything. I'm still not getting 2 of the 3 shipping modules selected in Admin.

I checked the products themselves and changed one from "No Tax Class" to "Non-Taxable". This also didn't change anything.

So, I'm still completely at a loss...?

Make sure your shipping modules are not limited to just that zone. Do not select a shipping zone on each of the shipping module setup pages, or they will only show when the customer is from that zone..

That's not it, either - all 3 of the shipping modules installed are set to their defaults.

Like I said, it is a configuration issue, but if you have not kept track of your changes, it is a needle in a haystack. I am sure it is something simple that you are overlooking. Good luck finding it.

If you want me to take a look, make me a temporary admin account an pm the details to me.

I checked your site for you, and your issue is pretty easy. You set the shipping modules for the Retail Group to only use the Table rate shipping.

Since all customers default to the Retail group, that is the only module they will ever see...

I changed it back to its default of letting the module control it. All your shipping methods are showing again.

FYI you do this under:
Customers >> Customer Groups >> Shipping

And select the Use settings from Configuration Radio button.
