General Support Query

Dear All,

I am new to the osCommerce environment hence am still asking around and finding out the basics, can u tell me should support for the OSC Max flavour of osCommerce be taken from both this site and the osCommerce site? Also i have read various reviews of osCommerce, several suggesting that the OSC Max flavour is the best option to go for and that it improves on the standard osCommerce package, any comments on this?

Do not ask about osCMax at the main osCommerce site. That is a quick way to get banned over there. Your posts will be deleted for sure.

You have heard right about osCMax though. It really does improve on the base osCommerce cart and has a lot of features that should be standard in osCommerce that aren't.

If you mention the code and or the mod your having problem with and using a "heavy modified MS2 store" on osCommerce forum your going to be okay. Mention a FORK like osCMax or Loaded etc... all of a sudden - your posting will start disappearing with Private Messages from a grumpy 'thebear' or other moderators.....

Feel free to post what you want here as you feel free.

Ain't free speech just grand! (I guess it is not quite the same in Germany.)

Cheers guys, i have since paid for a cheap price for hosting a setup, i look forward to really getting to know the product. I was wondering if there is something u can read for novices such as myself, it would include; how to set up, how to actually use and general best practices or hints and tips?
