Default Displaying Subcategories on Category Pages

Hello, I've got an issue with my Categories and Subcategories. Lets say I have a store with categories like this:

Albums (Main Category)
-CD's (Sub Category)
-Vinyl (Sub Category)

If you click on Albums, now you're on the Albums page. On the body of the page, how do you get it to say CDs and Vinyl. I'm not talking about the categories menu, i'm talking about the actual content of the page.

Thanks
Dubious

OK, once again I've answered my own question but it has illuminated what I think is a problem with the OSCMax interface.

Here's the scoop. You can display Subcategories on a Category page, however... if there are any other PRODUCTS in the Category page, none of the Sub Categories will appear on the Category page. They'll still be in the Menu in the Left Column, just not on the page. Now here's where we get into BUG territory... if you have a PRODUCT marked out of inventory, it will still prevent your Subcategories from displaying. You have to actually DELETE ANY PRODUCTS in order to display Sub Categories.

So, that's not really a desirable way to control whether or not Sub Categories appear, and it's definitely bugged some of my clients. I'd like to see this change in future versions. For now, I'm going to take a crack at fixing it myself.

Cheers
Dubious

Lara, do not post to long dead threads... Stick to your original post and stop cross posting. It clutters up the board and makes it harder for us to help you...

AlElder - I know you are trying to help, but please keep it in the forums. If you can help her offline, you can help her online too... thanks! Also, don't post your email in threads. If she wants to contact you privately, do so via pm and you can go from there. I am trying to keep the forums free from email harvesters, and keep the threads clean.
