times out when trying to download easy populate file

We have few hundred products on our site, and are adding a whack more and I wanted to use the easy populate feature. However I am unable to download the easy populate file, it times out after 120 seconds. I've also tried having it create the EP file in the temp directory and the same thing happens.

This is the error I get:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in [...]\public_html\admin\includes\functions\database.php on line 45

is there a way to make the timeout longer?
(i don't really know php, i'm just in charge of the content of the site, but we didn't discover this until after our contractor signed off. I can follow instructions generally though)

Contact your host. It has nothing to do with code, but server settings in apache for session timeouts. They will have to raise the timout to something higher.
