adding text box for a product attribute

Previously I had worked with OSMax 1.7 and if I remember right I had the option to select what kind of form element (text box, radial, select, etc.) to use for a given attribute. Has this been removed in v2.0?

Right now I have a need to utilize a text box where a browser could enter text along with the item they are purchasing. What is the easiest way to accomplish this in v2.0?

In the near future the client would like to have a page (product) where the user can input a dollar amount into the text box to make a payment. This I suspect is more difficult, but is there a way to set this up in v2.0?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
