Default Thumbnails, Dynamic Mopics Not Working

Hi OSC geeks. I've installed a LOT (~20) of OSC stores, noticed that OSCMax 2 Dynamic Mopics aren't working. I fixed the product descriptions from an earlier sticky by changing the code. I upload photos through the catalog admin and they don't seem to get processed.

When I go to the product listing, the image is forced to a thumbnail size by html <img height= and width=>. If I right click and go view image on the thumbnail its returned to full size. There is no click to enlarge option.

I have mopics setup as follows:

Big Image Types: jpg, gif, jpeg, tiff, png, bmp
Thumbnail Image Types: jpg, gif, jpeg, tiff, png, bmp
Big Images Directory: images_big/
Thumbnail Images Directory: thumbs/
Main Thumbnail In "Thumbnail Images Directory": false
Extra Image Pattern: imagebase_{1}

Things I've tried: I have verified the existance of the image_big and thumbs folder in my catalog/images folder. I've verified my catalog/images folder has 777 permissions. I've also tried setting images_big and thumbs to 777. I've read virtually every mopics post on this forum. I've read the Mopics installation guide that our kind admin keeps referencing.

I have tried resintalling OSCMax2 from scratch.

OSCMax 1.7 works fine on the same server.

You can see an example of my woes at: http://www.shopsugarmagnolia.com/sto...?products_id=1

Can you help me?

Thanks
Dubious

Hello, I don't know anything about mopics, but I had the same problem with the "click to enlarge" not showing up. I found this article that fixed the problem, but I think it disables mopics. As I said, i don't even know what mopics is, but I got the "click to enlarge" back and it is working great. Hope this helps.

OK, I've disabled mopics like they did in that post. Now I have click to enlarge. However, the thumbnails on all my product pages aren't actually thumbnails, they're full size images being shrunk down to thumnail size. That means that if you right click and go view image on one of the thumbnails, it becomes full size. In 1.7 the thumbnails were working fine. What's going on?

I found this in the wiki - If you are using PHP 4.3.8 or later, the current iteration of Mopics will not work right.

I have wasted countless hours working on mopics and in the end this is what I discovered. I now understand why it does not work. Worse yet I am still unable to restore the click to enlarge feature. Yes I have implemented all the suggested fixes with nothing favorable to report. I will finish the second reinstall tonight and will probably be returned similar results as before.

Wow, I would never have guessed this could be so difficult. But I am a publisher and not a programmer.

If any of you all are trying to figure out how to get thumbnail resizing going, i'd recommend the "Automatic Thumbnailer" contribution. I installed it in oscmax 2 in about 5 minutes and am delighted with it.

I have mopics working just fine, but I had to tweak it a bit.

Leave the default setting for the extra images as is in the admin panel: image_{1}, but give them the following naming conventions: image_1, so forth. Worked for me.
